It’s a sad day…
October 31st, 2002Legendary hip-hop DJ Jam Master Jay of Run-DMC was shot and killed in Queens on Wednseday. Being the group that originally turned me on rap and hip-hop way back, and the only hip-hop act I still take the time to follow, this is indeed sad.
Run-DMC was about to go into the studio to record their eight album, and then head out for their 20th anniversary tour. I’m guessing plans will have to change now as JMJ was the “band” of the group. He will surely be hard to replace. May he rest in peace.
